The converted result is not a font (typeface setting) but actual Unicode mathematical alphanumeric symbols—special characters themselves. Since the characters themselves have the shape of cursive, they display in cursive regardless of the font settings of the paste destination.
Difference Between Cursive and Italic
Cursive is a typeface where characters are connected and flow together, while italic is a typeface where characters are slanted to the right. In English, the former is called cursive and the latter italic.
