Basic Knowledge
How Lottery Fairness Works
Computer lotteries use random numbers to select one item equally from all candidates, ensuring fair selection unaffected by order or appearance. Unlike manual draws, they eliminate arbitrary bias.
Lotteries With and Without Exclusion of Winners
There are two types: sampling without replacement, which excludes previously selected items from future draws, and sampling with replacement, which returns all candidates for each draw. The former suits prize winner selection, while the latter works better for situations like daily role assignments where the same person can be selected consecutively.
