Becquerel (Bq) is a unit expressing the amount of radioactive material's ability to emit radiation, while Sievert (Sv) is a unit expressing the magnitude of radiation's impact on the human body. They are used differently based on the perspective: "quantity on the material side" versus "impact on the human body side."
What is Gray (Gy)
Gray is a unit of absorbed dose, which measures the amount of energy absorbed by a substance from radiation. 1 Gy represents an absorption of 1 joule per kilogram of substance. The Sievert, which indicates human body impact, is calculated by multiplying this absorbed dose by a coefficient that depends on the type of radiation.
