Basic Knowledge
What is IPv4-Mapped Address
An IPv4-mapped address is a notation like "::ffff:192.0.2.1" that embeds an IPv4 address within the IPv6 format. It is used when IPv6-capable systems need to communicate with IPv4 peers.
IPv6 Abbreviation Notation
In IPv6 addresses, leading zeros in each block can be omitted, and consecutive blocks containing only zeros can be compressed to "::" in one place. Since the same address can be written in multiple ways, it is important to standardize the notation when comparing or configuring addresses.
