Knowledge Base
Why doesn't speed improve even with IPv6?
Even if IPv6 is available, sites that don't support IPv6 will still use IPv4. Speed also depends on network congestion and destination load, not just address type.
Difference between IPoE and PPPoE
IPoE and PPPoE are different connection methods for fiber optic internet. The visible IPv4/IPv6 address alone cannot determine which method you're contracted with.
- PPPoE:PPPoE requires username and password authentication before communication starts, and can suffer congestion during peak hours.
- IPoE:IPoE connects directly via IPv6 by skipping authentication, avoiding congested equipment, so speeds tend to stay stable even at night.
Where to check if IPv4 only is detected
If IPv4 only is detected, IPv6 may be disabled somewhere in the connection path. Check these 3 main areas.
- Provider contract:Verify your provider contract includes IPv6 (IPoE) service and that signup is complete.
- Router settings:Check if IPv6 features (IPv6 passthrough, IPoE connection settings, etc.) are enabled in your router's admin panel.
- Device settings:If IPv6 is disabled in your device's network settings, you won't use IPv6 even if the line supports it.
Safety and Privacy
Server-side processing
Input is processed on the server; only information necessary for the inquiry is sent.
Temporary processing only
For Obtain provider name, temporary processing occurs on the server, then data is discarded after results are returned.
Communications encrypted with HTTPS
All sent and received data is encrypted by TLS and cannot be read by third parties.
No transmission to third parties
Input content is not sent to external services such as ad networks or trackers.
IP check service and location API only
Connects to external IP check services for address verification, and sends only the IP address to external APIs for provider lookup
