Use cases

Checking propagation after a server migration

After changing settings, check periodically while waiting for the new values to take effect

Investigating mail delivery failures

Inspect MX and TXT records, including SPF, for misconfigurations or omissions

Isolating issues during a site outage

When a site won't load, verify name resolution to determine whether DNS is the cause

Routine inspection of domain settings

Look up the NS and CNAME records of multiple domains together to detect unintended changes

Investigating suspicious access sources

Reverse-lookup an IP address found in logs to identify the host name of the source

Safety and privacy

Server-side processing

Processed temporarily on the server and discarded after the result is returned. Only the information needed for the lookup is sent.

Temporary processing only

For DNS record lookups, temporary processing occurs on the server, then data is discarded after results are returned.

Communications encrypted with HTTPS

All sent and received data is encrypted by TLS and cannot be read by third parties.

No transmission to third parties

Input content is not sent to external services such as ad networks or trackers.

Sent only to DNS servers

The domain or IP you enter is sent only to DNS servers for record lookups.
